When reading this entry on a site that in and of itself indicates "you aren't at the bench anymore" I realized that A> I understood the entire thing, legal words and all AND B>It actually affects some decisions I am making right now.

You loser, I'll bet you can't even pipet 1.5 ul anymore. Much less pour a gel (wait, we use pre-made gels now), or inject a mouse. And I'll bet you miss the days of pHing buffers. And scrounging food leftover from seminars. And wasting hours of your life waiting for things to incubate. And developing films, don't forget that.....
....yeah...I think I miss the bench...and then I go talk to the R+D folks and realize what they do on a day to day basis...
That is the part of science I don't miss. Thinking about science=good. Doing science=bad.
...but some of that food that I scrounged was pretty good, so that is a fine memory!
